Antique French Wax Flower Crown III
Antique French Wax Flower Crown III
Antique French Wax Flower Crown III. Double wire base with tiny orange buds along the middle and clusters of orange blossoms at each end. Can be worn fastened in a circle as a crown/tiara, around a bun, or open in a headband style.
A beautiful piece of history. Queen Victoria set the trend by wearing a grand wreath of real orange blossoms at her wedding in 1840. In northern climates, real orange blossoms were hard to come by, so wax replicas were used, and the tradition of wearing a wax flower wreath continued for over 100 years.
Exclusively sourced in France by Lily Pond. Circa 1950.
