Vintage French "Milliat Frères" Vegetables - Set of 6 Soup Plates (French style shallow bowls for soups and stews)

Gilt rim, with vegetable design. Features central designs of either asparagus and radish or tomato and mushroom. Circa 1950s.

Note: This set has 4 soup plates with the tomato design and 2 soup plates with an asparagus design.

Milliat Frères was a French pasta and grocery manufacturer. Established in Lyon in 1929, but moved to Nanterre on the outskirts of Paris after their location was destroyed in WWII. They produced not only pasta, but also other foods such as desserts, flans and soups.

From our research this collection appears to have been produced for a promotional campaign or as corporate gifts specifically for the Milliat Frères company. Many of the pieces have marks that indicate they were made in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, an area of Northern France well known for porcelain.

Size approx: 3 cm (H) x 24 cm (D)

Very good condition, some wear on the design due to age.

Please note that all brocante items are original antique and vintage pieces. Their imperfections are part of their story, which is what makes them so special. Please read the description carefully and check the photos for details of the condition of each item.
